We will deal with you firmly, DP William Ruto tells criminals

The Jubilee government will not negotiate with criminals, Deputy President William Ruto has said.

"We are going to deal with them (criminals) firmly," said Mr Ruto.

The DP, who was speaking at a church service in PCEA Kikuyu town yesterday said the Government would also deal with leaders fueling insecurity in Kapedo, Mombasa and Tana River.

"Even leaders who are spreading hatred and tribalism will not be spared. They will be dealt with according to the law. Those leaders have no place in this republic and they do not deserve to be leaders in the 21st Century," he said.

Ruto urged leaders to stop spreading hatred because the county is in need of development and bringing the cost of living down.

"All our leaders should speak in one voice irrespective of their tribe and their political affiliation. Kenyans want unity and development and that is why we are building railway, reducing cost of electricity and also building roads," he said.

The DP asked Kenyans to help the government improve security by reporting any suspicious groups or individuals to police.

He was accompanied by Kiambu Governor William Kabogo and MPs Kimani Ichung'wa (Kikuyu), Mburu Kahangara (Lari), Esther Gathogo (Ruiru), Alice Ng'ang'a and Moses ole Sakuda (Kajiado West).

The DP later launched the Kikuyu township roads project initiated by the national and county governments at a cost of Sh272 million. Kabogo said leaders should be responsible in their deeds and utterances.
