Sabina reveals baby daddy

Features

sabina

At only 28, she has been a beauty pageant participant, actress, newscaster, producer, show host, singer, DJ and even an investment banker, on a list that seems to go on and on.

Pulse: It is alleged that you knew someone at M-Net and that is why you represented Kenya in Big Brother Hotshots. Is it true?

Sabina: No. I auditioned, just like everyone else. It was my second time to try. The first time I wasn’t picked. BBA guys don’t discriminate regardless of your background. M-Net is not even involved in the auditions. Big Brother is purely an Endemol affair.

P: Your decision to go to the BBA house left many wondering how you could leave your baby behind. What made you go ahead?

S: It wasn’t easy but I am in the entertainment business so it was a chance to hustle and get exposure. I made sure she was well with the necessary arrangements. My mother had to come from Mombasa to live with my sister, cousin and the nanny in Nairobi to take care of her.

P: At her age, weren’t you breast feeding her?

S: I stopped breastfeeding her when she turned six months and she had already started eating.

P: What was going through your mind when you made a doll and carried it on your back while in the house?

S: It was just me expressing that part of myself. I also used to console guys a lot in the house when they were low so I used to be like a mother, which is part of my life. I wanted to show Africa that besides being a hotshot, that’s also me and part of me being a mother.

P: Could that have influenced how fans felt about you resulting in your eviction?

S: I can’t tell for sure. I just went into the house and was myself. I am a mother and I am not ashamed of my daughter. People voted for me and I appreciate it.

P: Many thought it was strange and unhygienic to bathe with your clothes on. Why did you do that?

S: Because life goes on after Big Brother and I didn’t want to jeopardise who Sabina is. I didn’t want to have my videos on YouTube plus I am also a mother and a Christian. I don’t see what the problem is when other contestants also showered with clothes on.

P: What’s up with the rumour that there are naked photos of you and Ella of Uganda online?

S: She’s the one who is naked, not me. I’m in my shower clothes and as you can see she’s darker and slimmer (laughs).

P: You and Permithias were very close. Was there something between the two of you?

S: We had a connection. We used to make music together. He was in a love triangle and wasn’t the man I was looking for. I like him and he’s very close to my heart.

P: Are you in a relationship?

S: No.

P: Is there a reason behind your relationship status?

S: I haven’t met a man who can be a father to my child. I am a single mother as the relationship I was in did not work out. You have to be careful with the next man who comes into your life.

P: What about your child’s father?

S: He is not in the picture anymore. He is in the past.

P: Word has it that he is someone from a prominent family...

S: He’s from a well-known family. He is one of Kirimi’s son, they are the owners of Stedmark Gardens.

P: You have a young child together and that means the romantic affair was real tight. What went wrong?

S: I have just said that the relationship did not work and I am not thinking about him anymore. He is not part of our lives.

P: How long had you dated before you called it a day?

S: Let’s just say I knew him for three years and we dated for like two years. I got pregnant and some issues came up.

P: Could those issues be related to the anti-abortion monologue you gave while in the BBA house?

S: I am against abortion, which is why I am a single mother. That’s what inspired the monologue.

P: Well, you said you are going into music?

S: Yes. I am looking for a good producer and manager. At the same time I want to continue with acting and producing TV shows.
