KDF kill 22 Al Shabaab, dismantles logistical base in Bula Gadud

NAIROBI: Kenya Defence Force soldiers in Somalia Monday killed 22 Al Shabaab militants during an attack on the group’s operational base at Bula Gadud previously used to attack Kismayu and its environs.

A statement from KDF’s Public Affairs officer Col David Obonyo said the operation liberated Bula Gadud and also destroyed three technical vehicles apart from capturing weapons and ammunitions.

During the operation a Kenyan soldier and three others from the Somali National Army were injured and later transferred to KDF’s hospital at Dhobley for treatment.

The liberated town is said to have been a major logistical and planning base for Al Shabaab.
