Jubilee Government stable, affirms Deputy President William Ruto

Nakuru, Kenya: Deputy President William Ruto Sunday reaffirmed the stability of the Jubilee government saying no amount of political games or scheming will destabilise the government.

Emphasizing that President Uhuru Kenyatta is in charge, Mr. Ruto said those  engaging  in divisive politics with the aim of destabilizing the government will not succeed  as the government was firm united and focused in taking  Kenyans  forward.

He said: “This is not the time for games; this is not time for schemes nor is it time for divisive politics since the country is united behind the President and is going forward.”

Noting that time for politicking ended with the last general elections, the Deputy President urged  Kenyans to ignore side shows and other political machinations aimed at portraying the Government   negatively and continue  supporting  the government they elected last year.

“Kenyans are now concentrating on development; those who want to politic and are seeking to be elected to political seats should wait until 2017,” he added.

The Deputy President was speaking in Nakuru when he laid a foundation stone to St. Maria Veronica High school in Nakuru town East constituency and later attended a church service at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in the town.

He lauded the people of Nakuru County for fostering peace among different communities living in the area and for holding peaceful elections last year in an area which has been a flashpoint for ethnic clashes in past elections.

 He said: “The government will continue to work with the leadership of this county to foster the peace and development prevailing here.”

On education, Mr. Ruto reiterated that the government had increased funds for free primary education programme by Sh4 billion from Sh8 billion last year to 14 billion this year while in secondary schools the funds had been raised from 20 billion last year to 28 billion this year.

Said Mr. Ruto, “Besides, the government will pay examination fees for students in class eight and form four this year. We want all Kenyan children to access education; no one should be excluded from school on account of want,” he added.

Mr. Ruto who inaugurated a health centre in the area reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the provision of free maternity services in all government health institutions.

He was accompanied by MPs David Gikaria for Nakuru town East, Kimani Ngunjiri for Bahati, Samuel Arama Nakuru Wsest and Jacob Macharia for Molo.
