Boda boda man pays hefty price over adultery

A boda boda operator in Bahati District, Nakuru County, got the beating of a lifetime after the husband of a woman he had been having a clandestine affair set upon him with kicks and blows.

The woman, a mother of two children who is in her 30s, was a noted church goer before slipping into treacherous ways. She preferred young studs to her husband who is in his mid-forties and had been away for long as he works in the port city of Mombasa.

Free riders

Her recent catch was a recently married boda boda rider in his 20s. In a well-orchestrated move, the boda boda man would arrive at the woman’s house after 9pm almost every night. This plan had been going well for a few months.

Their nocturnal activities however, didn’t escape her ever suspicious neighbours. One of the woman’s neighbours seemed to have been keeping tabs on the boda boda operator, especially his check-in and check-out time. He would sometimes stay up to three hours.

There were whispers that she was paying him in kind owing to the free rides he would give her during the day.

The husband was notified of his adulterous wife’s escapades. By then, the pair were already the subject of salacious village gossip.

Without notifying a soul, the aggrieved husband took a bus from Mombasa arriving in Nakuru in the evening before taking a matatu home. He made it to his house under cover of darkness catching the wife off guard. She had no time to warn her lover to stay away as the husband confiscated her phone.

At around 9pm, the unsuspecting young man announced his presence by the roar of his motorbike. Perhaps, he was thinking of a sumptuous meal prepared for him before taking the next ‘course’ in bed.

He swaggered in as usual ready to fall into the loving arms of his ‘mpango wa kando’. He was however, welcomed by a vice-like grip of a hand around his neck.

“You’re the one who has been having an affair with my wife. You’ll regret today!” fumed the woman’s husband.

The young man tried to plead innocence but the homeowner wouldn’t have any of it. He couldn’t explain what businesses he had been transacting with the man’s wife every other night. This saw the angry homeowner raining kicks and blows on him in rapid succession.

Drawn by the commotion, neighbours came to find out what was going on. The poor young man found the going tough as almost everyone ganged up on him.

Wife vanished

“This young man is recently married and should be content with his wife and keep off the wives of others,” one neighbour was overheard saying.

The young man claimed he had been visiting the woman on her invitation. This didn’t go down too well with the husband who also gave his wife a resounding beating.

The next morning, the boda boda operator was reported to the local chief where a stern warning was given to him. His young wife, on learning about his escapades, packed her belongings and vanished.

The boda boda operator has since gone underground.
