KIRINYAGA, KENYA: A man who attempted to hack Ndia Mp Engineer Stephen Ngare was on Monday shot and killed on the spot by the lawmaker's bodyguard.

The panga wielding assailant was shot three times and died instantly at Ngando Primary School grounds when he attempted to hack the legislature in his constituency.

The assailant stormed school where the MP had gone to inspect a Constituency Development Fund (CDF) project.

Ngare and his entourage had just settled down for the entertainment when the man in his early 30s emerged from the crowd. He was menacingly brandishing a sharp panga while aiming at the MP.
