President Uhuru Kenyatta welcomes Sh50 billion investment in Kenya

Nairobi;Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta has welcomed the rising wave of British investment in Kenya and urged British and Kenyan investors to forge a mutually beneficial relationship.

Speaking at State House Nairobi after a UK delegation pledged their firms will invest Sh50 billion in the country, President Uhuru said the increasing British investment vindicated Kenya's position as a regional economic hub and expressed the UK's confidence in the country.

"We welcome mutually beneficial partnerships that will yield good results to investors and the people of our two countries," President Kenyatta said.

The President spoke on Wednesday during a meeting with the Lord Mayor of the City of London, Alderman Fiona Woolf, who paid him a courtesy call at State House, Nairobi.

The Lord Mayor of the City of London said UK companies are set to invest Kshs 50 billion in Kenya's financial services, energy and infrastructure sectors.
