NAIROBI, KENYA: National Police Service Commission has announced that repeat of the recruitment exercise in 36 centres whose results were cancelled will be on September 1.

The officers who handled the bungled exercise will not take part. Johnstone Kavuludi of National Police Service Commission ( NPSC) said in future the exercise will not be a one day affair and will not admit recruits coming with appointment letters

“Those selected will be recruited as the military does its work,” he said.

Police recruitment in 36 centres has been nullified following claims of irregularities affecting 1,215 recruits. The commission said the 36 centres were found to have fallen short of the standards.
