Wenger complain to UEFA after bottle is thrown at him

Arsenal have sent a complaint to UEFA after Arsene Wenger claimed he had a bottle thrown at him during Tuesday night's draw with Besiktas.

The Champions League play-off first-leg clash in Istanbul ended goalless following a dull 90 minutes.

But Wenger claimed he was on the receiving end of a thrown object after the final whistle at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium.

The Gunners boss said: "As I left the pitch, a bottle or something was thrown at me. I reported the incident to UEFA."

Wenger also criticised the performance of referee Milorad Mazic after midfielder Aaron Ramsey was sent off late on.

The Welshman was already on a booking when he tugged back Oguzhan Ozyakup and was subsequently dismissed but Wenger insists neither offences were worthy of a yellow card.

He added: "Both yellow cards for Aaron Ramsey are unvelieable.

"When you see the fouls they made it's not serious. Just not serious."
