Oserian FC thrashed hosts Kisumu Leeds FC 4-0 in a National Women’s Premier League encounter at the Moi Stadium, Kisumu, at the weekend.

In another match at the same venue, Spedac Ladies silenced Soccer Queens 2-0 through goals from Murral Auma and Jacky Oolo.

Kisumu Leeds were not lucky either in their second match, losing 2-0 to Soccer Sisters. Nyambura Margaret scored the winners’ first goal after 25 minutes before Zainab Amisi added the second.

At Kisumu Day Secondary Schools grounds, Thika Queens were held to a two-all draw by Oserian FC. Winfred Jacinta was the hero of her side Oserian again giving the team the lead in the 12th minute before Faiza Omar equalised two minutes later.

Jacinta again tapped a volley after getting a cross from Shikove to give her team the second goal in the 28th minute before Catherine Kithae levelled with just a second to the final whistle.

Kakamega Muslim held Falcon Eldoret FC to a goalless draw at the Lions Secondary School playground before Spedac FC edged Wadadia 2-1. Spedag’s Lilian Awuor scored a brace as Cynthia Suguru netted a consolation for the loser’s.

In another match OGSY Kenya and Wadadia FC settled for a one-all draw. Grace Nyambura scored for OGSY in the 22nd minute before Wadadia’s Irene Nabwire levelled.

During the weekend matches, Football Kenya Federation Competitions chairperson Doris Petra said: “We promised to decentralise games and bring the games to the grassroots, that’s why we thought it wise to bring the game to Kisumu.”

Meanwhile, Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma had to fight off chants of “Ranguma must go” from fans on Saturday during the GOtv Shield match against Gor Mahia and GFE 105. The fans demanded to know what he had done to ensure the stadium is completed.
