Nairobi, Kenya: Police are looking for a house girl who allegedly strangled a one-year-old baby girl she had been left to take care of in Ruai area, Nairobi.

The body of Angel Muthoni was found in her parents’ bedroom on Monday evening, long after the housemaid had left and it is not clear what motivated her to kill the infant.

Reports from Nairobi County police commander Benson Kibui indicate the 19-year-old woman had been left in the house by the deceased’s parents.

She allegedly used a rope to strangle the baby before escaping.

“We are yet to know the motive of the killing but officers are looking for the woman who escaped soon after the incident,” said Kibui.

Offices moved the body to the mortuary.

Meanwhile, police are also looking for a gang that carjacked a bus headed to Nairobi’s Githurai area and robbed passengers of their cash and valuables.
