Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga leads Cord governors to US summit

NAIROBI, KENYA: CORD leader Raila Odinga will on Thursday lead governors to a summit in the United States of America.

The governors drawn from Cord coalition will among other engagements meet and make presentations to potential investors mainly drawn from the US.

The Cord team includes Alfred Mutua (Machakos), Cornel Rasanga Amoth (Siaya), John Nyangarama---Nyamira, Cyprian Otieno Awiti (Homa Bay), Sospeter Odeke Ojaamong (Busia), Amason Jeffa Kingi (Kilifi), Josephat Koli Nanok (Turkana), David Kepue Nkedienye (Kajiado), Jack Ranguma (Kisumu), and James Ongwae (Kisii)

According to communication from the former Prime Minister’s secretariat, the governors will make presentations on various opportunities in their Counties that are open to foreign investors and the priorities.

They are also expected to explore existing opportunities for mutual collaboration in different fields between the US and Kenya.

The Dallas forum is the first among a number planned by CORD to help the Governors attract Foreign Direct Investment to their counties and to have first- hand experience of managing devolved units in close collaboration with the national government.
