Deputy Provincial Police Officer Moses Ombati is now acting provincial commander after Kibuchi handed over at the weekend in a ceremony attended by Nairobi’s 14 OCPDs and top CID officers.
Kibuchi said he had been on contract for four years and was happy to retire peacefully. More changes are expected when current Director of Police Operations Mr Njue Njagi exits soon. “It is not easy to work for more than 40 years in the police. I am happy to have served for this long and wish city residents the best,” said Kibuchi.
Kayole OCPD Moses Lubisia was moved to Kiambu in the same capacity swapping positions with Mr Samuel Mukindia. Naivasha OCPD Ernest Oponyo was moved to police headquarters and replaced by Charles Kortok, formerly of traffic headquarters. Iteere said the changes are normal aimed at enhancing police operations. In the Administration Police department, Mr Samuel Arachi has been named acting commandant.
