Parents from a school in Gilgil want the running of the institution investigated after a teacher was nabbed for allegedly sexually abusing a male student.

The parents of a private boys secondary school expressed their anger after the incident where the deputy head teacher was said to have had oral sex with the Form Four student.

The co-ordinator Nakuru County Good Governance Moses Gitonga said parents were concerned by what was happening in the school.

The parents from the school demanded an investigation into the institution by the Ministry of Education.

“The school discipline is wanting and the current issue is just the tip of the iceberg and it should be fully investigated,” he said.

Arraignment

This came as police announced that the teacher would be arraigned in court today to face various charges.

According to Naivasha OCPD Ernest Oponyo, the teacher who was nabbed on Friday was in custody at the Gilgil Police Station.

“The teacher is in custody in Gilgil and we expect him in court on Monday to answer several charges,” he said.

Parents and activists were left seething with anger after claims emerged that the teacher had even ‘proposed’ to the student through the social media.
