Teachers reject Sh13.5billion State offer

Updated Saturday, September 22nd 2012 at 00:00 GMT +3

Teachers have rejected Sh13.5billion offer by the Government payable in three-phases insisting on one-off payment.

This comes after a top decision making organ of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) met Saturday.

The Union has also dismissed Education Minister Mutula Kilonzo’s threats of mass sackings if they refuse to resume classes.

The teacher’s strike that has run for close to three weeks has crippled the education sector since the schools opened in September.
