The Orange Democratic Movement on Wednesday inaugurated a new electoral board to oversee party nominations ahead of the 2013 polls.
The eight-member National Electoral Board (NEB), which is headed by Cl. Rtd. Dr. Henry Kathurima, was mandated to conduct free and fair grass root nominations for the party.
“Our nomination process for various electoral positions in the coming general election must be flawless,” Prime Minister Raila Odinga told the team.
Speaking during the occasion, ODM National Chairman Henry Kosgey guaranteed transparency and fairness to those wanting to run for the nomination bids.
He emphasised that there would be no sacred cows during and after the party primaries.
Addressing the matter of gender equity in politics, PM appealed to women to present themselves in big numbers for ODM tickets.
Addressing the gathering, the newly appointed NEB chair assured party members and aspirants of impartial services from the board members, saying that they would like to give the best to the party.
“We are up to the task and ready to deliver,” he added.
This appointment comes after the party bagged Ndhiwa Parliamentary position alongside other several ward seats in Monday's by- elections.
