After his 2008 Muhadhara hit, some pundits dismissed James Ngaita aka Jimmy Gait as a one-hit wonder who would barely break into the rather crowded gospel music market.

The 1980-born is a man of many first sand with that in mind, he kept his focus and swatted off the haters and what they thought of his singing future.

And come last Sunday, Jimmy Gait was the talk of town as top entertainers, CEOs and politicians graced his Make It or Make It countrywide campaign launch held in Nairobi.

“Despite the challenges and hardships in life, you have to make it or make it,” the flashly dressed award-winning star echoed as an elated crowd applauded.

Bishop Allan Kiuna of Jubilee Christian Centre (JCC) was the first to get on his feet as Jimmy Gait, who is a Moffat Bible College graduate, went on fire, turning the fully packed auditorium into an inspirational preaching hall.

From Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore, politicians like Embakasi MP Ferdinand Waititu to entertainers Churchill, Emmy Kosgei, Erick Omondi, Jalang’o, Gloria Muliro, Caroline Wanjiru, Mr Seed, Hey Z, DK, MOG, Fred Omondi and Juliani among others, the crowd all broke into song and dance.

The mood was inviting, the venue well lit and the centre-stage perfectly arranged, ready to host the blast of a show.

An elegant Esther Wahome of the Kuna Dawa fame and recently crowned first runners up in the Mrs Universe beauty pageant narrated how her journey towards the coveted crown had started off innocently and that she had never dreamt the day would come.  Successful businessman and owner of the San Valencia chain of restaurants, Phineas Kimathi, did not disappoint as he too gave his account to the attentive crowd.

Bishop Allan Kiuna thenu delivered a powerful and inspiring message to everyone before paving way to Churchill, who took over.

With Gait describing him as the coolest CEO, Bob Collymore, the Safaricom CEO, was next on stage, giving a detailed experience of his life and his way to success.

The event featured top performances from showbiz’s finest including MOG, Juliani, Emmy Kosgei, Gloria Muliro, Caroline Wanjiru, Mr Seed, Hey Z, and DK.

The countywide tour of the Make It or Make It campaign jumpstarts at the end of this month and a lot is in store for everyone.
