KCB crowned Prinsloo Sevens rugby champions

Kenya Commercial Bank are the Menengai Oil Prinsloo Sevens champions.

The bankers thrashed hosts Nakuru RFC 37-0 in the finals of the Main Cup at Nakuru Athletic Club on Sunday.

  KCB had stopped Strathmore Leos 22-12 in the semis. Earlier, the bankers clobbered Mwamba 15-5 in the quarters.

Nakuru RFC had earlier defeated Kenya Harlequin 10-0 in the quarters before nailing Kisumu RFC 24-7 in the semis.

In the semis,  Nakuru scored their tries through Lawrence Buyachi who touched down twice before Erick Mochache, Donald Aluoch and Calvin Otieno added three more.

Elphas Otieno replied for Kisumu RFC with a consolation try in the dying minutes.

Nondies hit Eldoret RFC 10-0 to win the Shield title in the Menengai Oil Prinsloo Sevens finals. Nondies touched down twice but failed to  make any conversions as Teddy Salano ensured his team led 5-0 at the break.

In the second half, Leslie Ochieng’ added the second try, which ensured the white shirts did not go home empty handed.

Homeboyz lifted the Bowl title after they defeated Mean Machine 12-5 in an entertaining match in the Prinsloo Sevens championships at Nakuru Athletic Club on Sunday.

In the Plate finals, Kenya Harlequin won after they dispatched Kenya University’s Blak Blad 10-5 in a tension-packed match.

On their way up, Nondies defeated Catholic University 14-7 in the quarters and later hammered Bungoma RFC 40-5 in the semis, as Eldoret smashed KCA University 22-5 in the quarters before hitting Molo RFC in the semis.
