Big guns face easy fixtures in FKF President’s Cup

Big guns AFC Leopards and Sofapaka have landed relatively easy ties in the round of 16 of the FKF President’s Cup with Gor Mahia facing Western Stima.

Kenyan Premier League leaders AFC Leopards will play coastal side Congo United while Sofapaka face Mahakama, both from FKF Division One league.

The matches will be played on the weekend of September 1-2 with the winners advancing to the quarters scheduled for October 6th-7th

Another Premier League side Karuturi from Naivasha will host Nairobi Stima, while KPL champions Tusker await the winner between unheralded sides Muranga versus Wamo.

The winner of the trophy will represent Kenya in the Caf Confederation Cup.

AFC Leopards beat Mathare United 2-0 on goals by Jimmy Bageya and Allan Wanga in the round of 32 while Sofapaka minced military side Ulinzi Stars 3-0.

Holders Gor Mahia disposed of Kisii side Borabu Chiefs 5-2 at the City Stadium on Sunday. Tusker were 4-0 winners over Keroka Technical.
