Gor Mahia extended their winning ways to the President’s Cup with a 5-2 win over Borabu Chiefs at City Stadium yesterday.

The result enabled Gor to sail to the third round of the Football Kenya Federation ( FKF) President’s Cup tournament.

Ugandan international defender Ivan Anguyo put Gor ahead in the 10th minute, paving the way for Kevin Omondi to extend the lead ten minutes later.

Borabu shocked Gor with a 31st minute come-back when Jared Obwoge beat Jerim Onyango and scored again four minutes later to equalise in the 30th minute.

Gor piled the pressure in the second half and pushed their best name in the game, clearly determined to grab victory.

Coach Zdravko Logarusic brought in Rama Salim, Dan Serenkuma and Joseph Njuguna in a bid to get more goals.

Paid off

It paid off immediately as in the 67th minute, Edwin Lavatsa netted the third goal as Gor enjoyed possession.

Rama ended any hopes of Borabu coming back with a stunning 72nd minute finish before Itubu Imbem scored the fifth five minutes later. Following the victory, Gor will now face Western Stima in the third round knock-out fixture next month.

In Naivasha, Karuturi Sports crushed Nakumatt 4-0 at the Finlay grounds.
