The almost age-old question of what wo men want has been asked, answered, reiterated, beaten down with a sledge-hammer, soldered into our brains and basically written into history. To make it even more difficult, wo men from all walks of life have given different answers that only further compound the mystery of what they want.
But we’ve never lacked an answer; there is always something we want. Of keynote, is what we want in a man.
The image we have in our minds is often a mixture of that celebrity crush we have always had, the boy-next-door, ‘the one we let get away’, and stirred with a hot serving of that romance novel or soap we’ve been watching.
In all the times we have described what we want in a relationship, have you ever stopped to think of what your partner wants? What are you bringing to the table?
Men seem to be hard-wired to know exactly what they’re bringing. He has to be good looking, so he works out and eats well to ensure he’s healthy, and he grooms himself. He knows he’s got to provide, so he goes out and accumulates the wealth needed to pacify you into a sense of security. He has to be a gentleman, so he goes ahead and learns to be one, inside and outside the home. He knows he’s got to be the best dad there has been, so he doesn’t make stupid mistakes that will cost him a future. He knows his assets and presents them.
Men have always been shrewd in their choice of wives and partners. You could be hot till kingdom come, but are you willing to keep up appearances and look great even as you push on to your 60th birthday? Are you willing to work extra hard to make sure the money he earns to provide for you is well spent or is it going to slip through your fingers like sand? Are you going to be the mother that his children deserve to have? And are you the woman he needs by his side or is your ‘ratchetness’ showing?
In today’s society, wo men are almost equal partners and are expected to deliver just like the men do. Get down to it and come up with a list of what you think you bring to this relationship, and evaluate your real value.
