Another girls secondary school in Murang’a has gone on strike. Students of Kamahuha Girls High School in Murang’a South District stormed out of the school Saturday morning, complaining over shortage of water.

They accused the administration of doing nothing towards solving the problem.

Murang’a South District Education Officer Mr George Wachira said the school management intervened and calm returned in the institution.

Wachira said the students went back to school after they were assured the problem would be solved.

“The students are back in school and the issue will be addressed by the Board of Governors,” said Wachira.

Kamahuha joins others institutions from Kahuro district which have gone on strike citing various grievances.

Gitweku Girls secondary school has gone on strike twice while Rwathia Girls students walked out demanding to be allowed to wear short skirts.
