Mr Sarvjeet Channa has resigned from the Standard Group after serving for four-and-a-half years.

Mr Channa, who was Group Chief Operating Officer (GCOO), was a key pillar in the transformation of the Group, having joined as the Finance and Commercial Director before rising to become GCOO.

In a statement on Monday, Standard Group Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Paul Melly said the board would meet shortly to agree on a process of competitive recruitment of his successor.

Said Mr Melly: “ Channa has been a key pillar in the transformation (of the business) and it is therefore regrettable that he is leaving at a time when we have been working on a strategic reorientation for future growth and influence on the success we have thus far achieved.”

Channa, while wishing the Group well, said it had been exciting working with the company in its phase of tremendous growth.
