Have you been to a wedding where what the bride is wearing gives everyone chills? Makes you wonder whether you should have just left the children at home.
Unfortunately, not all women know how to dress their bodies and follow proper fashion rules. For those of you about to walk down the aisle, kindly save us the embarrassment and adhere to some simple fashion rules.
1. A size too small
When selecting a dress, choose a fabric and design that will flatter your strengths and hide your problem areas. For example, if you have a large bust, pick a gown that offers support such as a one shoulder halter or bandeau instead of a strapless gown, which will have you looking like your bust is pouring out.
If wearing a strapless gown has always been a dream, you can pull it off with a cute bolero jacket, which will help conceal and cover your flaws.
2.Wrong fit
Know your body size and measurements prior to going shopping. Identify the problem areas you want covered and those you want to flaunt to give you an idea of the right kind of gown for your body.
Once at the bridal shop, request for assistance and you will be on your way to finding that perfect gown. For example, if you are tall and slender, a sheath, mermaid or trumpet gown would do you justice as opposed to a ball gown, which will have you look like your floating away.
3. A bit too short
What some brides forget is, weddings are family affairs with both old and young guests and liberal and conservative guests whose feelings have to be considered.
As much as you love to show off your lovely legs, some compromise will have to do. For example, a short gown may look inappropriate if you’re pear shaped, leaving your inner thighs for all to see.
