Coast Super Kings beat Masai Mara Tusker by six wickets in the Samsung Cup Cricket tournament at Simba Union Club.
Super Kings players bagged all awards with Arun Balaraman being named man of the match, Ram Hari Haran best batsman, Ritesh Pamnani (best bowler) and Alfred Selvara (best fielder).
Coast Super Kings won the toss and elected to field. Masai Mara Tuskers were all out for 122 in 25 overs.
In their batting, Mara Tuskers Aneesh scored 29 runs including two sixes off 23 ballsand Shijas Ahmed scored 22 including four boundaries off 23 balls.
In bowling, Super Kings’ Ritech Pamnani dismissed three batsmen and conceded 21 runs in five overs and Suresh Venkat was 2-17, also in five overs.
Chasing 123 in 25 overs, Super Kings achieved the target in 22 overs with the loss of four wickets during the event last Sunday.
Contributed 32 runs
Balaraman scored 40 not out which was made up of three fours and a six in 32 balls while Haraharan contributed 32 runs including three boundaries off 40 balls.
In Mara Tusker bowling, Girish Nair was 2-21.
In the second match of the day, Rift Valley Challengers beat Mount Kenya Chargers by four wickets with nine balls to spare.
Pramod Shetty of Rift Valley Challengers was named the man of the match, while Mount Kenya Chargers’ Thota Sreenivas was declared the best batsman. Santosh Gore of Rift Valley Challengers was declared best fielder during the match.
Won the toss
Mount Kenya Chargers won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 133-7 in their allotted 25 overs.
Sreenivas scored 44 runs including six boundaries and Akhil Boddu added 36.
Santosh Gore recorded 3-30 in four overs while Rahul Shetty was 2-19 in five overs.
Chasing 134 in 25 overs, Rift Valley Challengers achieved the mark in 23.3 for the loss of six wickets. Shetty scored 55 not out off 66 balls and Gore contributed 17 for Challengers.
